#39 Marisol Reyes, Staff
(Human Resources Generalist
Ballet Folklorico Club Advisor)
From Date Festival Fairgrounds performances to interviewing suitable candidates for College of the Desert positions, I have been blessed by being given the opportunity to work in this beautiful institution.
My original plan was to finish an accounting degree at COD in 1998. A car accident put me off my feet and I could not finish the semester to graduate with my class. However, it opened the door to give me strength and motivated me to recuperate in 8 months rather than 2 years as doctors had estimated.
I took a job at College of the Desert in 2001 and moved into the Human Resources Office in 2005. Having learned the traditional Mexican dances during high school, I was excited to volunteer to be the Folklorico Club Advisor in 2005. I started teaching the history of each dance to students who joined our club.
I am proud to be a COD staff member and Club Advisor.
